Summit Health, Inc. is the nation’s leading provider of comprehensive wellness, health screening and immunization programs. We provide these services using mobile teams. In 2007, Summit Health, conducted over 20,000 health screening clinics and flu shot programs that span across all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Total screenings for 2007 is over 1.4 million. Summit Health has a solid and experienced network of over 1,250 offices that cover all zip codes within the United States.

Summit Health, Inc. was founded by Richard Penington in 1999. In 2004, Summit Health acquired the assets of the Health & Wellness and Flu Shot Division of Interim HealthCare. Interim HealthCare, founded in 1966, is the nation’s largest provider of home health care and supplemental staffing with 300 offices and 67,000 health care workers.





Summit Health's and Business Segments consist of Immunization Services, On-Site Health Services & Health Management Services. Below is a brief description of each Business Segment:

    1. Immunization Services

    Summit Health is the leading provider of community based influenza and pneumonia immunizations in the United States. These services are provided in retail stores, employer sites, and community centers. Summit Health also provides immunizations for Hepatitis, Tetanus/Diphtheria (Td), Meningitis, and travel.

    2. On-site Health Services

    Summit Health provides health screenings at corporate locations and retail sites around the country. These low cost screenings allow individuals, employers, and insurers the opportunity to conveniently obtain low cost services while addressing preventative healthcare needs.

    • Comprehensive on-site health screenings including clinical tests (e.g. blood pressure), laboratory blood analyses (e.g. PSA), cholesterol screenings and immunizations. Summit Health offers the largest selection of screenings in the industry.

    • Executive Physicals that are high-end health screenings for corporate executives and personal consultation with a Summit Health Medical Director.

    • Health education offers multiple forms of health education, on a stand-alone basis and as an integral part of our Disease and Lifestyle Management programs. Summit Health has fifteen health education seminars.

    • Educational materials which include a variety of colorful and informative tri-fold handouts are available for distribution by the counseling staff during the “Teachable Moment” when the employee is receiving his or her test results. The PermaFold handouts are printed on rugged plastic for durability.

    • Educational displays to supplement health screenings and educational seminars

    • Specimen collection services provide qualified staff to collect urine, blood and other samples for testing and screening purposes.

    • Clinical Trials where Summit Health conducts health screenings to identify individuals who qualify to participate in a clinical trail. Summit Health is currently supporting Pfizer and GSK.

    3. Health Management Services

    Health Management Services include:

    • Health Risk Assessments that combine lifestyle, medical history, clinical tests, and laboratory tests to identify prevalent health risks and offer valuable insight into an individual’s overall health status.

    • Lifestyle and Disease Management uses a combination of self-reported risk information and specific biomedical testing values (e.g. Cholesterol level) to identify individuals at high risk. Participants identified with moderate to high health risks are asked to participate in a self-directed, monitored process in order to achieve behavior modification goals.

    • Medical benefits-integrated incentives are financial incentives that are typically incorporated into the insurance premium structure (payroll deduction amount) for all employees and, in some cases, for spouse premiums (if included in the program).

    • Wellness Consulting. At the end of a health screening and/or Health Risk assessment program, Summit Health provides a wellness consulting service designed to give a company an overview of the results and a wellness plan designed to reduce healthcare costs and increase employee productivity.
