Health Screening Program Rollout
The Health Screening Program will be managed using a hub and spoke network. The hub or single contact will be the Summit Health Service Center located in Southfield, Michigan. This service center manages staffing in over 20,000 retail and industrial settings throughout the country. A national Account Manager at the Summit Health Service Center will be designated as the contact person for the Health Screening and Flu Shot Program. This manager will then work closely with the 1,250 Summit Health local offices (spokes) to provide a high quality and seamlessly integrated program.
Below is a high-level overview of Summit Health’s rollout Plan.
Health Screening Execution
Summit Health will provide a document that gives detailed input on the layout of the clinics, necessities required (e.g. number of chairs), how to schedule the patients, how to communicate the event, etc. Below is a sample layout of a small clinic at the client’s site with a capacity of 15 patients per hour. Please note that Summit Health uses a single-station-model. A patient sits down with a health professional for 12 to 15 minutes and the entire screening and counseling takes place at that station. This model leads to a high quality counseling session (the teachable moment is the highest value-added activity) and does not require the patient to move between stations thus leading to a high patient satisfaction. The Summit Health local office will contact the site a week before and a day before the clinic to answer any questions and to verify the site is ready for the health screening clinic.
At the health screening employees complete an informed consent form prior to starting the screening process. Once the form is completed, the employee proceeds to an open screening station. At the screening station the Summit Health staff reviews the informed consent form and then starts the health screening process.
At the end of the health screening Summit Health conducts a counseling session to review the employees` results. As part of the counseling, the employee receives a results handout along with national guidelines. During the counseling session, Summit Health can introduce our Intervention/Lifestyle Management programs and answer questions.
