Participant experience is very important to Summit Health. The better the experience of each participant, the more likely he or she will be to make positive lifestyle changes that reduce health care costs.
A positive participant experience starts with Summit Health’s proprietary online appointment system. Participants schedule their appointments using our easy online system that provides confirmations, integration with Outlook Calendars, and e-mail reminders. The online appointment system eliminates wait time for participants during health screenings.
The positive participant experience continues through the health screening event. Participants are greeted by a clerk at a forms station. The clerk verifies the identity of participants and provides each with a personalized, barcoded consent form. Participants sign their consent forms and are directed to a health screening station at their appointment time.
After the screening, participants are able to access their biometric results online via a secure portal. Participant results are provided in a graphical format for a five-year rolling time period.
Summit Health provides online enrollment for screenings, immunization/flu shot programs, and coaching appointments using a proprietary appointment system, which results in high participant satisfaction. By matching appointments to the availability of the screening team, wait times at screening events are nearly eliminated. E-mail reminders sent the day before the event reduce no-shows. Because most people sign up quickly upon receiving their invitation e-mails, the site coordinator or HR manager will know the projected turnout a week or more in advance. If projections are lower than anticipated, the promotional campaign can be enhanced. The site coordinator also has the ability to make appointments for participants who do not have access to a computer. The power and flexibility of our online appointment system differentiates Summit Health, Inc. from other health screening providers.

Summit Health uses a single-station model for screening clinics. Both screening and counseling is conducted at a single station by one Summit Health Staff member. Screening usually takes 12 to 15 minutes. Participants are counseled throughout the screening and receive their biometric results with a Summit Health counseling brochure. During screening, participants and Summit Health staff are able to develop a rapport, which creates an environment in which participants feel comfortable asking questions and listening to counseling. This setup yields a significantly higher customer satisfaction than the multiple station model used by other organizations. This model also leads to greater participant understanding of biometric results and greater compliance with suggested lifestyle changes, which improves return on investment (ROI) for our clients in the form of reduced health care costs.

Throughout the health screening, the Summit Health staff counsels participants about their results. During counseling, participants receive a counseling brochure with their results and national guidelines. Summit Health staff introduces participants to our clients’ intervention and lifestyle management programs and answers questions.
Our most important educational handout is the Health Screening Results Brochure. The Summit Health screening staff records participants’ biometric data on the tri-fold form. (Participants’ names are not recorded on this take home brochure to protect privacy if they are misplaced or left behind.) This handy brochure provides explanations of the tests and results, an action plan, and additional resources.

Participants have access to a secure online portal to view their biometric screening results. These results are shown in a graphical format over a five year period.
